My First Blog!

Yesterday I read an article at www.desiringgod.org by Abraham Piper entitled "6 Reasons Why Pastors Should Blog"

After reading it and praying, I have decided to become a "blogger." I have read blogs and comments and have benefited from both. I hope that this blog will help as we seek to live and love like Jesus, the Cornerstone of our faith.

Wow, now we can get you 24/7!

Seriously, do you think this is a good way to see if anyone else is interested in meeting with Tony Varela Sat evening regarding August trip??

Blessings,

Bob

I'm so glad that you are blogging!

"Through writing, you delve into new ideas and new insights. If you strive to write well, you will at the same time be striving to think well." - Abraham Piper

I have found this to be true for me as well.

Looking forward to reading what you have to say.

Thanks for the encouragement. If possible, I hope to blog from Israel in May.

Bob, yes I will try to post tomorrow about Tony's visit and the missions trip meeting. The other way to get the word out is through my weekly prayer email.

Okay, if you can take the plunge, I can. That saying, "You can teach an old dog..." (I'm talking about ME, not you!)

Seriously, there's nothing I love more than talking with others about our awesome God, and being sharpened by their relationship with Him! So I am PSYCHED our pastor has become a Blogger.

The Don't Waste Your Life conference sooooo impacted me. How do I not waste my ___________ (Marriage, food, heartache, trial) so that the world sees that I treasure Jesus? Wow! It brought so much to light, and I am thankful for our faithful shepherd that the Lord has used to teach us the foundational truths that John Piper wove into a new robe of many color I can wear with JOY!

Welcome to the blogosphere, friend. I've been trying to get my fellow Central Coast pastors to blog for nearly 3 years now. I wholeheartedly agree with all of Abraham's reasons to blog and have experienced them to be true in my ministry.

You'll realize soon enough . . . its both a delightful and difficult discipline.

Blog on. . . Tim

Thanks Tim! I like your description "a delight and discipline." Management of my time will be the key, although many will say "pastors only work one day a week!"
